Choosing Insulation & Jointing

Insulation and jointing materials are what close a job out properly. Foam insulation on hot lines reduces heat loss and prevents condensation on cold lines inside walls. PTFE tape must be wound in the tightening direction, not against it, and mould-resistant silicone is the right choice for bathrooms and kitchens. UPVC solvent cement must go on both surfaces after cleaning them, or the joint stays weak even when it looks fine.
